We take our safeguarding responsibilities very seriously and whilst we do not have a statutory responsibility for child protection (this is the responsibility of Essex County Council) we must help to keep children safe and well in our district. We follow the Southend, Essex &Thurrock (SET) Safeguarding and Child Protection Procedures (on the Essex Safeguarding Adults Board website) and the Southend, Essex &Thurrock (SET) Safeguarding Adults Guidelines.
All children, young people and vulnerable adults have the right to to be safe using the services provided for them regardless of age, race, disability, sexual orientation, culture or gender. This includes a right to be protected from any form of abuse.
