Saffron Walden Neighbourhood Plan Referendum
A neighbourhood planning referendum took place on Thursday 15 September 2022 in Saffron Walden.
National Mourning following the demise of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
The Saffron Walden Neighbourhood Plan Referendum went ahead on Thursday 15 September.
We thought very carefully about whether to continue with this poll, in light of the sad circumstances following Her Majesty's passing. We sought advice from the government who confirmed unequivocally that the referendum must by law continue as planned. We are of course marking this sad occasion across the district with solemnity and dignity, and recognise how deeply we all feel about this terribly sad period for the whole nation.
