About the Saffron Walden Neighbourhood plan referendum
The ballot paper will decide on the question:
"Do you want Uttlesford District Council to use the neighbourhood plan for Saffron Walden to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?"
Polling will take place at the following venues from 7am to 10pm on Thursay15 September:

Poll cards will be issued around 12 August.
19 August 2022
Not receiving a poll card by Friday 19 August might mean you are not registered or not eligible to be registered - check with electoral services.
30 August 2022
Anyone who is not registered and wants to vote in this poll will have until Tuesday 30 August to register to vote.
31 August 2022
Anyone who wants to vote by post and who doesn't usually have a postal vote will have until 5pm on Wednesday 31 August to submit your completed application.
5 September 2022
Postal votes will be issued around 5 September.
7 September 2022
If you wish someone to vote on your behalf you can apply for a proxy vote and you will have until 5pm on Wednesday 7 September to submit your application. A proxy poll card will be sent to your appointed proxy.
9 September 2022
If you have not received your postal ballot paper pack by Friday 9 September - you can ask for a replacement.
15 September 2022
Polling will take place across 7 polling venues throughout the town, as detailed on your poll card
16 September 2022
The count will take place and the result will appear here.
Who can vote
You are entitled to vote in the referendum on the neighbourhood plan for Saffron Walden if:
- you are entitled to vote in an election of any Councillor of Uttlesford Council whose area is in the referendum area and
- your qualifying address for the election is in the referendum area. A person's qualifying address is, in relation to a person registered in the register of electors, the address in respect of which he or she is entitled to be so registered
