Have your say on proposals for a new conservation area in Smiths Green, Takeley

Uttlesford District Council is asking for feedback on a proposed new conservation area for Smiths Green, Takeley.

The appraisal, which has been commissioned by Takeley Parish Council and prepared by Essex County Council's Place Services, defines the key elements of the special character and appearance of Smiths Green. It will provide guidance for the positive management of listed and other historic buildings as well as other elements that contribute to the area.

A public exhibition will be held at The Old School Community Centre, Brewers End, Takeley CM22 6SB on Saturday 9 September from 10am to 1pm as part of a consultation on the draft document. This is an opportunity to learn more about the appraisal, to ask questions and to provide feedback.

The consultation runs from 31 July until 29 September. All the details are available at: www.uttlesford.gov.uk/smiths-green-conservation-area.

Paper copies of the document are available from the Uttlesford District Council offices in Saffron Walden, Dunmow and Saffron Walden libraries, and Takeley Community Centre.
