Uttlesford clubs encouraged to apply for Sports Provision Grant
A grant for sports projects is now available for clubs in Uttlesford.
Uttlesford District Council allocated funds over three years to enhance sports provision in the district. As there was an underspend in previous years, the council is welcoming further applications.
The total funding available is £54,000.
The funding is aimed at sports clubs or other appropriately-constituted organisations, and is for larger-scale sports projects that can enable increased community involvement and participation.
The closing date for applications is midday on 14 December.
In previous years, funding has been given to support projects including £35,000 to Thaxted Youth Club for a new skate ramp, £150,000 to Saffron Walden Community Football Club towards its 3G artificial grass pitch at the County High School, and £100,000 to Newport Parish Council towards its multi-use games area.
More information, including who can apply and an application form, is available at: www.uttlesford.gov.uk/sports-provision-grant.
