Voluntary sector providers urged to apply for grant

Voluntary and charitable organisations in Uttlesford can apply for funding to help with the costs of providing essential services to local communities.

Last year, Uttlesford District Council handed out £310,000 through its Voluntary Sector Provider Contribution Fund scheme. It has now launched the scheme for 2024/25 and has opened the process for new applications.

The scheme is open to registered charities and organisations providing vital services to the local community and carrying out work that fits with the council's corporate plan priorities.

Organisations that have received funding in the past includes the likes of Citizens Advice, Uttlesford Community Travel, Volunteer Uttlesford and Home-Start Essex.

The grant is for revenue expenditure only and cannot be used towards capital projects such as refurbishment of buildings.

The closing date for applications is midday on 14 December.

An application form can be downloaded from www.uttlesford.gov.uk/voluntary-sector-provider-grant-scheme, or for further information contact Sue Hayden, Community Development Officer, on 01799 510563 or shayden@uttlesford.gov.uk.
