CSP events to support Operation Sceptre

The Uttlesford Community Partnership will once again be supporting the national knife crime awareness campaign this week.

Operation Sceptre runs twice a year, and the aim is to ensure residents are safe from knife crime in their community.

It is also being used as an opportunity to raise awareness that it is illegal to possess certain weapons, such as knuckledusters, flick knives and telescopic truncheons, in private places like homes.

A range of targeted operations, engagements and activities will be happening across the district as part of this initiative, including the knife amnesty bin for residents to safely dispose of any bladed items they do not want or should not have. Anyone who wants to surrender a knife should make sure it is fully wrapped up and placed in a secure container before bringing it to the amnesty bin.

The amnesty bin will be at the following locations:

  • Fairycroft House, Audley Road, Saffron Walden CB11 3HD - Tuesday 10am to 12pm
  • Takeley Old School Community Hub, Dunmow Road CM22 6OJ - Thursday, 10am to 12pm
