Important changes to Christmas and New Year bin collections

Uttlesford District Council is advising residents of some important changes to the bin collection schedule over the festive season.

Collections will be as normal in the week leading up to Christmas. This will be a general waste bin and food caddy collection week.

However, there will be no bin collections made the following week (26 to 29 December).

Collections will then resume from 2 January 2024. This will be for the recycling bin and food caddy. Extra recycling can be placed at the side of your bin for collection as usual. Please put items in white or clear bags or cardboard boxes - we cannot collect recycling if it is in black bags.

The following week (9 to 12 January) will be a general waste bin and food waste caddy week. Extra black bags can be placed at the side of your bin (up to a maximum of four bags) for this week only.

Residents can stay up to date with recycling and bin collection news by following the council on social media.

For more information about what can and cannot be recycled, visit www.uttlesford.gov.uk/recycle-it.
