Proposed community led affordable rural housing in Thaxted

Details of a proposed small development of 4 affordable rented homes for local people in Thaxted and how you can have your say on the scheme.

Thaxted Community Land Trust and English Rural are running a consultation on a proposed development in Thaxted. If approved for planning this will be the first Community Land Trust (CLT) scheme within the district.

You can also register your interest if you think you would like to live in one of the new homes.

What is being proposed

Thaxted CLT and English Rural are proposing to design, build and manage a small development of 4 affordable rented homes for local people in Bardfield Road, Thaxted. The scheme would comprise the following homes:

  • 2 x one bedroom maisonettes  
  • 2 x two bedroom houses

Site location

The proposed site is located on the North side of Bardfield Road adjacent to the disused Scout Hut.  Access to the proposed homes would be directly from Bardfield Road.
