About garden waste bins

All about our garden waste bin collection service, including how much it costs, how you can apply and when to expect a collection.

Having one of our garden waste bins is an easy way to get rid of any garden rubbish that you can not compost.

How to join

Anyone living in Uttlesford can sign up for the garden waste collection service.

When to expect a collection

Garden waste is normally collected every two weeks and is only available to domestic properties.

Your garden waste collection day may differ from your regular collection day so please check your letter for your collection day. Please make sure that the bin is at the boundary of your property by 7am on your collection day.

What to put in your bin

You can put any garden waste loose into the bin. If you put some twigs or dry leaves at the bottom of the bin it will help stop the garden waste from sticking in the bin and make it easier for us to empty it.

Please do not out any bags in the bin or leave any extra bags of garden waste out by your bin. We can only take garden waste that is in your bin.

What we collect - please put these items in your garden waste bin

What we can not collect - please don't put these items in your garden waste bin
