Sign up for the garden waste collection service
Set up regular garden waste collections, renew your subscription to the service and how to order a new or replacement garden waste bin.
If you live in Uttlesford you can ask us to collect garden waste from your home for just £50 a year, or £37.50 if you receive benefits.
Collections are every 2 weeks.
The service is suspended for one month over the Christmas and New Year period.
How to sign up
Join as a new customer, renew your subscription if you already use the service, order additional collections or purchase a replacement bin.
New customers
Sign up for a subscription to the garden waste service if you are a new customer.
You can sign up now to have your garden waste collected from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025.
What is costs
The garden waste service costs £50 for new customers.
⚠ There is no reduction in the payment if you sign up after 1 July even though you will not be getting the full 12 months of collections.
Discounts
If you receive Local Council Tax Support (LCTS) you will be eligible for a 25 percent reduction on the service charge. This will mean that you just need to pay £37.50.
You will need to provide your claim number which is available on any correspondence from us. If you are unsure of your claim number you can call us 01799 510510, you can also get in touch with us using alternative methods via our contact us page.
Bins
All new customers also need to purchase a garden waste bin from us. This costs £30.
There is no discount on the cost of a bin.
We aim to deliver your bin within 10 working days. But due to high demand we are taking longer than usual.
Please bear with us and be assured we will be getting your new bin to you as quickly as possible.

Existing customers
Renew your subscription for the garden waste service if you are an existing customer.
If you have a subscription for our garden waste service it was extending it by 4 weeks to the end of June to make up for the collections that were missed because of the recent disruptions to the service.
You can sign up now to renew your subscription to have your garden waste collected. Your subscription will run from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025.

To ensure that your collections continue you needed to have paid online by 10 June 2024.
Please enter:
- Reference - as shown on your letter
- Amount - amount payable
- Description - benefit claim number if applicable
Pay for garden waste collections (opens new window)
Pay by credit or debit card
To ensure that your collections continue you needed to have paid by phone by 10 June 2024.
You will need to call us on 01799 510510 if you want to pay over the phone using your debit card or credit card.
You can also pay by card at the reception at our London Road Offices in Saffron Walden.
Pay by cheque
To ensure that your collections continue you needed to have paid by cheque by 10 June 2024.
Please ensure that you put your garden waste reference on the back of your cheque. You will then need to send it to us at:

Additional bins and collections
Sign up to the garden waste service if you want to order additional bins and collections.
If you have a lot of garden waste you can pay for an additional bin and collection from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025.
