West Essex Tenancy Strategy
The strategy sets out matters which all registered providers of social housing in our area must consider when framing their own tenancy policies.
Every local housing authority in England must prepare and publish a tenancy strategy.
West Essex Tenancy Strategy
Together with Epping Forest District Council and Harlow Council we have adopted the West Essex Tenancy Strategy (PDF) [677KB] .
This sets out matters which registered providers of social housing in Uttlesford, Epping and Harlow (including each council as a landlord) must have regard to in forming policies about:
- the kind of tenancies they grant
- the circumstances in which they will grant a tenancy of a particular kind
- where they grant tenancies for a fixed term, the length of the term
- the circumstances in which they will grant a further tenancy on the coming to the end of an existing tenancy
