AECOM has been commissioned to undertake a Sustainability Appraisal process to support the consideration of housing growth and distribution options for the West Essex and East Hertfordshire Housing Market Area.
Sustainability Appraisal of the Local Plan (Place Services)
The purpose of a Sustainability Appraisal is to improve the quality of the Local Plan by assessing its policies and proposals in a consistent and transparent manner and testing them against alternatives.
The Scoping Report sets the context and objectives of the Sustainability Appraisal, establishes the baseline and decides on the scope of forthcoming Environment Reports. The Scoping Report was subject to a 5 week consultation in July 2015 and a number of comments and recommendations were made. The Scoping Report below includes at Section 2.4 a list of these comments, along with a response. The Scoping Report therefore incorporates a number of changes.
'Issues and Options'
In preparing the Local Plan the Council will be consulting three times, The Environmental Report below relates to the first of these three consultations and is the Sustainability Appraisal on the 'Issues and Options' consultation incorporating Areas of Search and Strategic Scenarios.
