Cost of living support

Advice and support to help manage the rising cost of living.

Information for landlords

Your responsibilities as a landlord and where you can find help and advice.

The main requirements for rented accommodation are outlined on our Housing Standards and HMO pages. Please contact Environmental Health if you have any queries about the standards required in private rented accommodation.

The council holds a Landlord Forum approximately once a year for the benefit of all private sector landlords in the district. Landlords can gather information and contacts from a range of service providers. There are stands, presentations and question and answer sessions from experts in a diverse range of fields such as housing law, Essex Fire and Rescue, police, water, energy saving, and benefits. Contact the Environmental Health team if you would like further information about this event.

Landlord Associations can also provide information, support and advice to landlords on all aspects of renting in the private sector.
