What is the Saffron Walden Clean Air Project?
"Clean Air" is Saffron Walden's new DEFRA-funded campaign that aims to increase awareness about the sources of air pollution and how to improve air quality through collaboration with businesses, schools and communities.
The project will produce a healthier environment for residents through more sustainable ways to travel and heat their homes, comprising of four key areas:
School Engagement & Education aims to raise awareness and reduce levels of air pollution among students, staff and parents. Young people and their developing lungs are particularly vulnerable to air pollution.
Building Public Awareness supports the entire Clean Air project and is focused on building public awareness of unfortunately invisible air pollution. We believe that information is key to inspiring action against air pollution.
All Saffron Walden businesses are eligible for this workstream. Each participating business will receive a free travel plan, a document that lays out a clear action plan towards more sustainable business transport.
