Submission of the Uttlesford Local Plan

After a few years of preparation, we have now submitted the Uttlesford Local Plan 2021 - 2041 to the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government for examination by an independent Planning Inspector. You can read more about this on Local Plan Webpage.

The Council have also prepared a new Authority Monitoring Report which can be viewed on the Council's monitoring webpage.

Prior to submission, we published the plan for a nine-week period under Regulation 19 of The Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012.

The Programme Officer has contacted representors to explain the arrangements for the Examination and establish the options available to representors should they wish to engage further in the examination process. 

What Happens Next? 

Planning Inspectors have now been appointed to undertake an Examination into the Soundness and Legal Compliance of the Plan. 

A dedicated examination webpage is hosted by the programme officer and will contain details of all documentation and the arrangements for the process.   

Programme Officer  

The Programme Officer, Ian Kemp, will act as the contact for any person who has an interest in the Examination and as a liaison between the Inspector, Council and Representors. 

He is an independent Officer of the Examination and works on behalf of the Inspector to organise and manage the administrative and procedural elements of the Examination process. 

Any matters that anyone wishes to raise with the Inspector should be submitted via the Programme Officer.
