While increasing awareness, the project will provide businesses, schools and residents with methods of reducing their exposure to and production of air pollution.

What is the Saffron Walden Clean Air Project?
"Clean Air" is Saffron Walden's new DEFRA-funded campaign that aims to increase awareness about the sources of air pollution and how to improve air quality through collaboration with businesses, schools and communities. The project will produce a healthier environment for residents through more sustainable ways to travel and heat their homes, comprising of four key areas:
Why clean air?
This project is being undertaken to improve air quality in Saffron Walden. Despite recent improvements in air quality we recognise that there is a need to do more to reduce emissions of nitrogen dioxide and particulate matter and make the town a healthier place to live.
