Planning and building control
Updates on our service due to Coronavirus
Planning advice: Planning advice will not be available from Wednesday 18 March. We are looking to offer an alternative service and will let you know as soon as we have further details.
Building control: We are providing a site inspection service during the current crisis. However in order to minimise the risk of transmitting/catching the virus we will be taking sensible precautions when on site and where possible only doing 'outdoor' inspections. We will continue to inspect excavations, drains and structural elements.
Please call us on 01799 510453 or 01799 510538 to request visits.
We will not be doing completion inspections inside occupied dwellings until the situation changes (unless critical for conveyancing).
Homebase appeal hearing: The planning appeal into the Homebase Saffron Walden application (UTT/19/0125/FUL) was held on 21 July. We have published all of the core documents.
Temporary suspension of parts of the Statement of Community Involvement: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic parts of the Statement of Community Involvement will be suspended for Planning Policy purposes. Read the notice of suspension.
Proposed stopping up of highway adjacent to 7 Belmont Hill, Newport, Saffron Walden CB11 3RF: Read the Public Notice and draft Order
